In the year 181AD New Zealand's Mount. Taupo erupted, spilling Ash, Rocks and imparticularly Pumice around the world.

Even today large car size boulders of pumice can be found embedded into the hill sides around this now tranquil looking crater lake.

Most of the Pumice I collect is from the rivers that have their source near Taupo and as such I can find a large variety of sizes, shapes and colours.

Pumice it's self is an igneous rock with a spongy or frothy texture, and composed largely of glass. It is frequently made up of parallel fibers or threads, with intervening spaces to form a delicate structure. Pumice is produced by the expansion of the occluded, or internal, gases of lavas when they reach the surface of the earth. It is most abundantly developed in lavas of rhyolitic composition, because these are usually very viscous.

I have a large collection of Pumice Boulders for sale, anywhere from the size of your fist to the size of a large kitchen sink. They make an ideal medium for not only carving but also landscaping, and are a fast easy way to create a rock garden with out breaking your back.

Prices vary depending on the size and Quantity you wish to purchase. I would recommend that if you wish to purchase the larger variety that you call personally to select the type you need.
